You have no idea what an accomplishment it is for me to get the lights to stay up on our front porch. It is alway a monumental task, but this year it looks like it won't be. Thank you 3M.
Now I need to find the time to put up our tree. Yes, it's true, I still haven't put it up. My kids are not happy with me. Putting up the tree requires time I have not had. I tried to take a couple of days off last week to prep for Christmas and it didn't happen. You see the week before they decided to drug test everyone in my department and wound up firing some people. We've also had people quit for various reasons and we are now incredibly short staffed. They were not happy when I had to leave work yesterday to take care of a sick child, but they knew not to argue with me too.
That position I have been trying to get still hasn't happened mainly because we're to short staffed to move someone into it. Doing so would leave us short another person. Figures.

Way to go girl. Don't let any challenge stop you. It's the quiet ones who get it done -- and surprise everyone.
We never put any lights up except on the tree. That's one of the sucky things about apartments - but the kids have so much fun with all the other kids so densely packed, so it's a pretty easy trade-off.
Sorry you're on overload at work, and that you haven't been able to segue into that better spot. I hope it happens for you soon.
I love you!!!
Hey, Cheryl! I saw a link to this blog from your comment on Tanjie's, and I thought I'd say hi. Haven't seen you much since I left ANC, but I'm back in Athens, now with two boys and another baby on the way, and blogging is the only writing I have time for these days. Hope you're doing well, and it's good to know you're a fellow blogger. Have a great New Year!
