I'm awake and feeling better. Okay, I'm still wishing I were in bed, but hey when the kids get up so do I. I have to clean up from Christmas. My kids new toys are spread out all over the place. I actually gave away two garbage bags full and we still runneth over. I guess it's time to do some more donating.
My husband and I spent Saturday taking our bedroom apart and giving it a thorough cleaning. We hadn't cleaned under the bed in eight years so it was really dusty. It was so bad that the dust bunnies were chasing us out of the room. They did not want to be evicted. However, one escaped and my husband saw it slowly crawling across the floor yesterday hoping no one would notice.
We still have lots to do though. My dresser looks like a mountain. It has reached the point where I might as well not have a mirror. Everytime I find something that belongs to me somewhere else in the house I add it to the pile. Not the best idea. I fully expect to walk in my room one day and find the whole thing has crashed to the floor and the dresser breathing a sigh of relief from the lost weight. When it's done I'll share some pics. Time to go clean.

I need to do this, too. I'm waiting until everyone is back at school/work. They just get in my way and undo my work anyway!
We're trying to get some control over the clutter, too. It's countered by my tendency to save everything. I still have toys from when Lane and Zach were little.
My big step - I threw away Barbies that were missing parts, instead of putting them into a "to-be-repaired" pile. Yay, me!
Well, you know I am pretty neat, at least most of the time. Except for the paperwork on my desk, there's not a lot of clutter in my house. I do it because I am too lazy to do what you are doing now. I never do laundry till clothes from the last time are put away. I pick up the clutter in the living room almost every day. So I never have a pile to deal with. Piles stress me out too bad - can't deal with 'em. Of course, I'm not wrnagling two children either! But once you get the pile sorted out, try the put-it-where-it-goes-and-not-a-pile method for a few weeks if you can and see if i t doesn't lower your blood pressure. I had to divorce Fritz to do it, but damned if it doesn't work!
I am trying to keep my apartment clutter-free. Not too hard to do when the kids aren't here, but when they are ... WOW! It's a lot of work!
Anyway, I think I'll try Suzy's approach and start actually filing stuff instead of putting in the file pile. That's my biggest clutter no-no right now.
Yeah, it can be hard not to pile things. And kids certainly don't help with that. I am the one of the worst I know, but the hubby is just as bad so it can really make for some messy spots. I just need to tackle them a little bit at a time.
